In July 2018, a crab of the family Pilumnidae was found in the coastal zone of the south-western Crimea, during the collection of samples of Black Sea aquatic organisms. Bottom sediments in the area of crab capture are represented by a solid substrate. During the sampling, water temperature was of 24 °C, and the salinity was of 18.0 ‰. Thus, according to morphological characteristics, specimen we found should be classified as the hairy crab Pilumnus cf. vespertilio (Fabricius, 1793), representative of the Indo-Pacific region. The work presents photographs of a live and fixed crab.
