Abstract
New manifestations of synanthropic tendencies in different bird species are constantly observed all over the world. The appearance of kittiwake in Murmansk is described. The observation of kittiwake summer diurnal migration route through the center of Murmansk city, where this species had not previously been encountered, was carried out for the first time in 2020. The approximate number of flying birds has been established as 1200-1500 species per day. Some features of the flight in the first (2020) and in the second year (2021) of the route existence are determined. The appearance of this type of bird activity can be considered as the first link in the development of the residential part of the city by kittiwakes.
